Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance sleuths unearthed a huge amount of unaccounted cash and properties during simultaneous house searches at five locations linked to Sunil Kumar Padhy, JE, RWS&S, Bhubaneswar, in Bhubaneswar and Ganjam on Thursday.
Apart from recovering and seizing cash to the tune of Rs 3.40 lakh, the Vigilance sleuths unearthed a triple-storeyed building worth Rs 1.10 crore and one market complex in the name of Padhy and his family members.
Interestingly, Padhy fled his home upon receiving news of the Vigilance search at his residence. He jumped from the terrace of his building to the neighbouring house and escaped.
During house searches so far, the following assets have been unearthed in the name of Padhy and his family members:
- A triple-storeyed building located on plot No.500/5120, Mallick Complex, Padhy Villa, Jagamara, Bhubaneswar, worth approx Rs 1.10 crore.
- One market complex at Aska, Ganjam.
- Cash to the tune of Rs 3,40,000.
- 1 four-wheeler (Grand i-10) and 4 two-wheelers.
- 17 bank accounts in different banks were found and are under scrutiny.
- Insurance, postal, and other deposits are under verification.
- Land/plots are being verified.
The searches are still underway and a further report is awaited.
