Bhubaneswar: During the simultaneous raids at the properties linked to Pradeep Kumar Rath, the Additional Chief Engineer, Odisha Bridge and Construction Corporation (OBCC), on Monday, Odisha Vigilance sleuths unearthed two multi-storey buildings, as many high-value flats and a medicine store in Bhubaneswar, a crusher unit and 42 plots in connection with alleged disproportionate assets accumulated the accused officials.
In addition to these, Rs 88 lakh worth of deposits, a four-wheeler, 2 JCBs, and an excavator were also unearthed by Vigilance teams led by nine DSPs, and 11 inspectors during the searches in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Bhadrak, Jajpur, and Khurda.
The following properties have been unearthed so far:
- Residential triple-storey building at Satya Vihar, Pandara, Bhubaneswar.
- Another residential triple-storey building at Bhadrak town.
- A flat at Oyster Apartment at Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar.
- Another flat at Patrapada, Bhubaneswar.
- One crusher unit in Dhenkanal.
- A medicine store-cum-residence of area approx. 1000 sqft at Indradhanu market, Nayapali, Bhubaneswar.
- 42 plots (three in Bhubaneswar, one in Khurda, two each in Cuttack, Bhadrak and Dhenkanal and 32 in Jajpur).
- Fixed deposits in different banks and post offices worth Rs 88 lakh.
- One four-wheeler (Eco Sports), 2 JCBs, one excavator and two two-wheelers.
According to a press release issued by the Odisha Vigilance department, the plots were purchased by Rath in different years in his as well as family members’ names. While the registered sale deed value comes to over Rs 1.05 crore, the actual value is likely to be higher.
The measurement and valuation/assessment of the buildings, flats, crusher unit, medicine store and plots are being carried out by the Vigilance Technical Wing. Insurance and other deposits are also under verification.
