Bhubaneswar: A Special Court of the Odisha Vigilance has confiscated assets worth Rs 7,55,427.19 of Dr Dhruba Charan Nath, a former Medicine Specialist of District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) Baripada.
The Vigilance Special Court, Cuttack on October 30 passed a final order for confiscating the immovable assets worth Rs 5,24,111 and movable assets worth Rs 2,31,316.19 amounting to total assets worth Rs 7,55,427.19 of Dr Nath, said an official press release.
The confiscation order relates to Balasore Vigilance police station Case No.16 of May 10, 1996, under section 13 (2) read with 13 (1) (e) P.C Act 1988 registered against Dr Nath on the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, the release stated.
After completion of the investigation, the Vigilance had submitted Charge Sheet on September 28, 1999, against Dr Nath in the aforementioned case, the release added.
Besides, the Vigilance had filed a Confiscation proceeding in the Court of learned Authorized Officer, Special Court, Cuttack for confiscation of disproportionate assets (DA) of the accused Dr Nath.
The Special Court passed the final Order for confiscation of assets worth Rs 7,55,427.19 of the accused Dr Nath.
