Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials during searches have so far detected 11 plots worth around Rs 3.70 crore in the prime areas of Bhubaneswar in the name of Piyush Kanta Pani, Additional Commissioner, CT & GST, Cuttack-I and his family members, said a press communique issued by the Vigilance.
The Vigilance suspects the actual value of these plots could have been undervalued during registration.
The other assets unearthed by the anti-graft agency’s sleuths include 1 triple storeyed residential building located at Chakeisihani, Bhubaneswar; 3 numbers of triple-storeyed buildings and 1 single-storeyed building located at Chorda Chowk, Jajpur Road, Jajpur; Farmhouse with an outhouse at Andharua, Bhubaneswar; Garage and single-storeyed building at Chakeisihani, Bhubaneswar; Bank & Insurance deposits worth Rs 53.63 Lakhs; Gold jewellery 387 gms; and 6 costly four-wheelers–Skoda Octavia bearing Regd. No. OR02-AG-8888 worth Rs.11,29,970, Volkswagen Taigun bearing Regd. No. OD02-CA-8926 worth Rs.15,00,000, Volkswagen Polo bearing Regd. No. OR02-BK-6000 worth Rs.8,50,000, Skoda Fabia bearing Regd. No. OR05-AC-9797 worth Rs.9,00,000, Skoda Superb bearing Regd. No. OD02-V-6357 worth Rs.10,50,000, Skoda Ameo bearing Regd. No. OD02-BH-7002 worth Rs.7,25,410.
Further searches are underway, the press communique added.
The Vigilance today conducted simultaneous searches on the houses and property associated with Pani on the allegation of acquisition of disproportionate assets.
