Cuttack: Odisha Vigilance sleuths have unearthed disproportionate assets worth crores of rupees belonging to Ratnakar Sethy, Assistant Civil Supplies Officer (ACSO) of Nuapada.
The Vigilance has so far unearthed, Insurance premium paid worth over 1.13 crore; one-triple storeyed building at Chauliaganj in Cuttack; one double-storeyed building at Balisahi in Cuttack; one Kalyan Mandap named Natraj Palace at Balisahi in Cuttack, three acre land with boundary and Rest House at Oranda in Cuttack, approximately 498 grams gold jewellery, and approximately 2.5 kg silver jewellery.
Earlier today, following allegations of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income against Sethy, six teams comprising 6 DSPs, 12 Inspectors, and other officers, on the strength of search warrant issued by Special Judge, had conducted simultaneous searches at the following six places.
1. Residential house of SO at Bali Sahi PS. Madhupatna, Cuttack
2. One G+3 building at Chauliaganj, CTC.
3. Nataraj Palace Kalyan Mandap of SO at Balisahi, Cuttack.
4. One 3 Acre land covered by boundary wall with Rest House at Oranda, Choudwar
5. Office room of SO at CSO office Nuapada
6. Rented house of SO at Nuapada.
Valuations of buildings being conducted by Technical Team of Engineers. The G + 3 building in Chauliaganj was constructed recently. The approximate built-up area is above 13000 sq feet. Approximate valuation comes to above Rs 2 crore.
Several Fixed Deposits in the name of ACSO and his spouse worth over Rs 88 lakh in various banks have been unearthed so far. Further, Rs 87 lakh was found in the UCO Bank savings account. Verification in progress.
