Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Thursday disproportionate assets worth crores of rupees in the possession of Jayanti Behera, former District Social Welfare Officer, Bhadrak, A/p posted as W&CD Department of the Odisha government, during simultaneous raids at 11 properties liked to the accused.
The Vigilance team unearthed three multi-storeyed buildings in Balasore, two flats in Bhubaneswar, four plots, Postal & Insurance deposits of over Rs 53 lakh, cash to the tune of Rs 2.79 lakh, one four-wheeler, along with several documents. The searches are underway till the time of filing this report and further details are awaited.
During house searches so far, the following assets have been unearthed in the name of Behera and her family members:
- One triple-storeyed building over a plinth area of 1700 sqft at Ganeswarpur, Balasore.
- Another triple-storeyed building over a plinth area of 1400 sqft at Firingipatna, Balasore.
- One double-storeyed building over a plinth area of 1000 sqft at Ganeswarpur, Balasore.
- One 3-BHK flat at Royal Residency, Gautam Nagar, Bhubaneswar.
- Another 3-BHK flat at Old Town, Bhubaneswar.
- Four plots in a prime area of Balasore. Details are under:
- A piece of land vide plot No.150, Khata No.63 of area Ac 0.18 decimal at Mouza Dasi, Balasore.
- A piece of land vide plot No.546, Khata No.186 of area Ac 0.11373 decimal at Mouza Jhagadapadhi, Balasore.
- A piece of land vide plot No.551, Khata No.238 of area Ac 0.09621 decimal at Mouza Jhagadapadhi, Balasore.
- A piece of land vide plot No.103, Khata No.06/03 of area Ac 0.09621 decimal at Mouza Badadeula, Balasore.
The measurement and valuation/assessment of the above building/flats/plots is being carried out by the Vigilance Technical Wing.
- Cash to the tune of Rs 2.79 lakhs
- Postal & Insurance deposits over Rs 1.40 crore.
- Silver ornaments weighing 2 kgs.
- One four-wheeler (Maruti Baleno-Altura) and one two-wheeler (Suzuki GLX).
- Bank and other deposits are under verification.
