Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance unearthed significant assets linked to Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) N Dillip Kumar Choudhury of R&B Division-1 in Berhampur in a disproportionate assets (DA) case.
The searches were conducted based on warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur.
Assets uncovered:
- One double-storeyed building (2400 sqft) at Mayuree Vihar, Berhampur
- One 3-BHK flat (1400 sqft) at Evos Exotica Apartment, Saheed Nagar, Bhubaneswar
- One 2-BHK flat (1000 sqft) at Spectrum Royale, Dharma Nagar, Berhampur
- 11 plots of land in Berhampur and nearby areas, including: Sankarpur: 2 plots (Ac. 0.050 dcml and Ac. 0.030 dcml), Lathi Mauza: 3 plots (Ac. 0.035 dcml, Ac. 0.041 dcml, and Ac. 0.062 dcml), Ambagada: 1 plot (Ac. 0.092 dcml), Dakshinpur: 1 plot (Ac. 0.103 dcml), Ratnapur: 2 plots (Ac. 0.104 dcml and Ac. 0.073 dcml)
- Bank and other deposits, investments are being ascertained
The Vigilance officials are assessing the measurement and valuation of the seized assets. Further investigation is ongoing, and a detailed report will be released after the evaluation is complete.
This development follows a similar raid on Baikuntha Nath Sarangi, the outgoing Chief Engineer of the RW Department, where assets worth crores were uncovered, including Rs 2.51 crore in cash and Rs 2.70 crore invested in the stock market.
