Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths today unearthed movable and immovable assets worth crores during searches at eight locations of Ramesh Chandra Jena, Senior Private Secretary of Panchayat Raj & Drinking Water Department.
The properties were found in the name of Jena and his family members;.
The assets include–
- A triple-storeyed building with an area of 4500 Sqft at Gothapatna, Bhubaneswar worth Rs.1.02 Crore.
- A double-storeyed building at Kalinga Nagar, Bhubaneswar.
- A building at Nirakarpur in Khordha.
- Five high-value plots including four in upscale areas of Bhubaneswar and one in Kanasa in Puri.
The technical wing of the vigilance is conducting the measurement and valuation of the above properties.
The anti-graft agency also found deposits of Rs.5.50 Lakhs, a four-wheeler (Honda Amaze) and three two-wheelers along with cash, gold & household articles worth around Rs.9 Lakhs.
Jena being a Government employee has rented out his official residence at the Market Building area, Bhubaneswar and was receiving rent Rs.12,000 per month through UPI transaction (Phonepe) from the tenants.
He recently joined the PR & DW Department about 15 days back. Previously, he has worked in the Transport Department for four years and also in various other Departments.
Jena entered into Government service as Junior Steno in the Home Department in 1990.
