Sundargarh: An elephant herd that migrated from Jharkhand on Friday morning has created panic among the residents of the Kutra block of Odisha’s Sundargarh district. The herd has ravaged four houses and consumed substantial paddy crops in the Nuagaon area since its arrival in the Badgaon forest area under the Kutra block.
According to reports, the herd comprising 19 elephants is seen roaming around the village spreading terror in the region.
It is said that a herd from Jharkhand crossed the Biju Expressway early on Friday morning and went towards the forest at Mahabir Pahar. While people in the region are in a state of panic, the elephants have not caused any major harm so far.
