Koraput: In a surprising find, villagers in Koraput district’s Borigumma block rescued a rare 7-foot-long Anaconda on Saturday, much to the delight of reptile enthusiasts.
The snake was spotted slithering along the Podapadara-Semiliguda road in the B.Singhpur gram panchayat area, believed to have come from a nearby canal.
A group of local youths safely rescued the Anaconda and immediately informed the Forest department, urging officials to relocate the snake to a safe forest habitat. The anaconda, a semi-aquatic group of snakes found in tropical South America, is rarely seen in this region, making the rescue even more significant.
