Balasore: Villagers of Machua spotted bodies of two persons floating in a water body in an abandoned quarry on Friday morning; almost five days after two youths went missing in Nilagiri block of Odisha’s Balasore district.
While the bodies are yet to be identified, it is suspected that they belong to the two youths who went missing a few days back. The bodies were recovered from the water body and sent for autopsy.
It is worth mentioning here that Bhabani Shankar (22) and Manoranjan (21) of Kansa village in the district left their homes on February 5 and have not returned since. They had told their families that they would be going to Mitrapur.
However, when the youths did not return till late in the night, family members tried to contact them over the phone. However, the mobile phones of both were switched off. On the next day, locals spotted their two-wheeler and blood-stained shoes near the water body. The families approached the police alleging that the youths were murdered.
