Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has set a target to construct over 75,000 rural roads by 2027, connecting villages with a population of over 150, informed Rural Development Minister Rabi Narayan Naik.
Naik has directed all officials to ensure 100% budget utilization in the next three months.
He stated that the Rural Development Department has reviewed the budget expenditure, and officials have been instructed to expedite the process.
Naik further said “The government aims to construct over 75,000 roads by 2027, with over 30,000 already built. The target is to complete all work within the stipulated timeframe.
Naik criticized the previous government, stating that 92 bridges lacked approach roads and land acquisition, but the current BJP government has completed land acquisition for 50 bridges. The government has aims to complete the remaining bridges within the next three months.
