Vimal Pan Masala Faces Rs 5 Lakh Fine For Unauthorized Advertisement In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has imposed a fine of Rs 5 lakh on a pan masala company for putting up an advertisement gate on the roads to promote its products.

The company- Vimal Pan Masala- has its office at Jayadev Vihar. However, it made a gate with advertisement banners on the streets of Shahid Nagar area without permission.

When it came to the notice of the BMC squad, the officials found that the company has started advertising since December 11.

With the required evidence, the civic body squad slapped a fine of Rs 5 lakh on the concerned company. A case has also been filed against the unit.

Putting up any poster, banner, hoarding without permission in the BMC area is an offence and attracts a hefty fine.

Even though the concerned company was aware of rules, it put of the advertisement hoarding by flouting norms.

Similarly, GenX Fertility Care at Unit-3, Annapurna Tent House at Jharpada, Jaydev Academy in Shahid Nagar have been fined Rs 50,000 each for putting up posters, banners and hoardings for promotion.

They are accused of polluting the environment by putting posters, banners, hoardings on government walls, utility poles and trees.
