Jagatsingpur: An ambulance driver was seen consuming liquor on the roadside, and serving to his patient too on the way to hospital in Tirtol area of Odisha’s Jagatsingpur district.
This act came to light after a video, shot by a bystander, went viral on social media platforms.
It can be seen in the video that the patient has one leg plastered, and attended by a woman and a small boy, most probably his wife and child.
“He asked for a drink and would not allow me to speed the ambulance. So, I stopped here and offered him,” the ambulance driver is heard saying to the onlookers.
The driver is further seen gulping down liquor from a plastic glass, and filling the glass of the patient who was lying down at the back.
Investigation is yet to be done in this incident though the residents of the area have demanded a probe into it and action against the driver as soon as possible.
