**Kendrapada**: A youth was allegedly stripped and thrashed by Talachua panchayat Sarpanch and his aides for having a love affair with a village girl. The Sarpanch conducted a ‘Kangaroo court’ trial in Rajnagar block of Kendrapara district in the premises of the panchayat office, stripped him naked and then thrashed the ‘accused’ black and blue for daring to have an affair with a girl of his village. The boy belonged to nearby Bhekta village.
Moreover, a video was made of the whole act and was posted on social media making it viral.
The critically injured boy was rushed to Rajnagar CHC, but as his condition deteriorated, he was referred to Kendrapada DHH.
The Sarpanch has been detained by the police and interrogation is on regarding this incident.
