Bhubaneswar: Following orders of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian visited the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology this evening and reviewed the various projects under the 5T Transformation Programme.
He also held brief discussions with the students at OUAT. Pandian visited the state-of-the-art auditorium, under construction. It was informed during the discussion that the construction work of this auditorium with 1000 seats will be completed by December 2023.
It is worth noting that this state-of-the-art auditorium will be the largest auditorium in the country and can host various training programs, workshops and conferences in the field of agricultural education from state to national and international levels. All classrooms of OUAT will be made into smart classrooms, he stated.
Pandian said that all steps will be taken to make the Agricultural University a leading educational and research institution of national level. It may be noted that Secretary to CM (5T), VK Pandian and Principal Secretary, Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment Department, Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee are both students of agriculture.
Pandian then visited the renovation work of the 200-seater Farmers’ Hostel. Its renovation work will be completed by September 2023. He also reviewed the construction work of the hostel which can accommodate 500 students. It is targeted to complete the construction work by December 2023.
The 5T Secretary promised the students that steps will be taken to develop badminton court and gym facilities in the hostel. During this visit, Principal Secretary, A&FE Department, Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Principal Secretary, Works Department, VV Yadav Managing Director of OBCC and Vice Chancellor of OUAT were present.
