Cuttack: Volunteers of ‘Federation of Blood Donor Organisations of Odisha’ (FBDOO) have taken it upon their shoulders to deliver oxygen to Covid-19 patients under home isolation in emergency situations as a life-saving measure using two-wheelers.
Delivery of oxygen to needy Covid-19 patients in home isolation through two-wheelers is both easier and time-saving as reaching houses using four-wheelers through narrow lanes and bylanes located in congested areas of the city is difficult and time-consuming.
“We are trying to reach oxygen to those whose oxygen saturation level has dipped and where it has been prescribed by the doctor. We are supplying them with oxygen for 24 hours as a life-saving measure till they are shifted to a hospital,” said Akshay Kumar Rout, a volunteer of FBDOO.
Rout informed that those in need of oxygen can reach them through three toll-free numbers launched by FBDOO.
He informed that the service is free of cost and is presently available in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Berhampur.
