Bhubaneswar: Former Odisha Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) supremo Naveen Patnaik on Saturday made a heartfelt appeal to the people of Nuapada, urging them to support the party’s candidate Snehangini Chhuria.
In a tweet invoking local pride and cultural reverence, Patnaik wrote: “Juhar to Nuapada people. May blessings remain intact. Vote for the daughter of the soil, Snehangini. Jai Maa Manikeswari. Juhar Nuapada.”
On Friday Patnaik launched a sharp attack on the ruling BJP, accusing it of cheating people with false promises and betraying the trust of Odisha.
Campaigning for BJD candidate Snehangini Chhuria in the Nuapada by-election, Patnaik said the BJP may have formed a government through “lies and deceit” but can never “win the hearts of the people.”
