Bhubaneswar: As many as 163 Zilla Parishad seats under 29 districts of Odisha will go to the polls in the fourth phase of the panchayat elections, said State Election Commission (SEC) Secretary Rabindra Sahu on Monday.
Around 51.31 lakh people are to exercise their franchise in the fourth phase that will be held in 17,089 wards. As many as 667 candidates are in the fray for the 163 Zilla Parishad seats.
Of the total booths, 2,563 have been identified as sensitive booths. While polling parties reached the booths in Puri, Khordha, and Nayagarh yesterday, they will reach in other 24 districts by this evening, Sahu said.
He further informed that the polling will be over in the districts of Dhenkanal and Angul in the fourth phase.
