Sambalpur: The Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla, has initiated disciplinary action against six students studying in the 8th Semester for allegedly ragging a junior.
In pursuance of the recommendation of the Disciplinary Committee and subsequent approval of the Vice-Chancellor, the six students involved in the act of in-discipline are imposed punishment as given below.
1.) Deduction of one grade point in the first two subjects appeared in the current 7th End-Semester examination 2021 of the students.
2.) All the students were fined a sum of Rs 15,000 each. The fine amount should be deposited by the parents in the account of Dean, Students’ Welfare by 31st January 2022.
3.) A 2nd Year Production Engineering student was warned to act sensibly for bringing discipline in the campus.
Further, the students and parents were asked to submit a declaration or undertaking in Non-judicial Stamp Paper of Rs 20 in the office of the Dean, Students’ Welfare by 31st January 2022.
