Bhubaneswar: In connection with the death of BTech graduate Chinmayee Sahoo’s death under suspicious circumstances, the police is very likely to conduct a lie-detection test on the accused today. The family of the deceased have alleged that she has been strangulated to death
If reports are to be believed, a team of Burla (Sambalpur) police brought Pritiman Dey and Manas Tudu, both accused in this case, to Bhubaneswar last night, following directions of senior police officials.
Chinmayee graduated from Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) in Burla from IT branch this month. She went missing after attending the convocation at the varsity on Tuesday night.
Her body was fished out the following morning from the power channel of the Hirakud dam project. She had last spoken to her mother about her travel on a bus back to Bhubaneswar. However, Chinmayee’s mother stated that she seemed to be under stress over the phone and later went incommunicado.
On the basis of her mother’s complaint, police have booked Chinmayee’s male friend, Pritiman Dey of BJB Nagar in Bhubaneswar and Manas Tudu, a final year student of VSSUT, under Sections 302, 201 and 34 of the IPC.
