Sambalpur: The viscera report of deceased Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) student Chinmayee Priyadarshini Sahu has been released and it reveals that she had consumed plenty of alcohol before her death.
According to Sambalpur SP B Gangadhar, the test found the presence of ethyl alcohol confirming that the deceased had consumed alcohol before death. The police have also seized CCTV footage of Chinmayee and another person drinking liquor at a hotel.
Earlier, the diatom report had revealed that Chinmayee died due to drowning. Currently, the police are probing whether the VSSUT student died by suicide or it was abetted.
It is worth mentioning here that Chinmayee had gone to VSSUT to receive her educational certificate at the convocation ceremony on February 28. Later, she went to the power channel bridge with her friends in the evening.
She went missing after falling into the power channel from the bridge. A search operation was launched by the police and Fire Services personnel and her body was recovered near the power channel on the following morning.
Meanwhile, the police filed a murder case against two persons including her male friend Pritiman Dey. A case under Sections 302, 201, and 34 of the IPC has been registered against Pritiman of BJB Nagar in Bhubaneswar and Manas Tudu, a final-year student of VSSUT.
