Jharsuguda: A 65-year-old woman was crushed to death under a wall which collapsed after being rammed by a wild elephant at Bhanura village under Bagadihi Forest Range in Jharsuguda district on late Tuesday night.

Reportedly, the deceased woman identified as Jamuna Behera was fast asleep when two wild elephants broke into the village last night and broke down the walls of the house. A part of the wall collapsed on her and killed her.

Villagers have alleged that wild elephants frequently stray into the village and destroy crops and properties.
