Bargarh: Expressing concern over public complaints about poor sanitation, MLA Ashwini Kumar Sarangi flagged off a fleet of 10 tractors and 30 tempos that will now carry out door‑to‑door garbage collection across Bargarh.
According to reports, the vehicles have been handed over to a private contractor, AVS Transcarrier Pvt. Ltd. of Bhubaneswar, which will run the city’s door‑to‑door garbage‑pickup service.
Speaking at the launch, Sarangi said, “Keeping Bargarh clean, beautiful and vibrant is not just the responsibility of the municipality or politicians—it’s everyone’s duty.” He urged citizens to cooperate so the initiative can achieve its goal of a tidy, well‑managed city.
The event was attended by Bargarh Municipal Executive Officer Debananda Sahu, Chairperson Kalpana Majhi and all councillors, who pledged support for the new waste‑management plan.
