**Cuttack:** When you are having a bad day, sometimes all you need is a splash of color to make it all good. The caretakers of ‘Ashraya- The Home’ realized this and planned a special surprise for the specially-abled children of the shelter home on the occasion of Holi.
As the kids were feeling gloomy on Wednesday, the organizers decided to dress them up as Radha and Krishna and added a tinge of color to their lives. The kids were taken to the garden where herbal colors had been lined up and hit Bollywood songs were blasting on the speaker.
Secretary of the NGO Sujata Patnaik said, “We want the children to understand that Holi is a festival of love, warmth, happiness and togetherness. It is the occasion to be enjoyed with the society altogether.”
The children were first taken by absolute surprise but soon warmed up to the atmosphere. Cakes were cut and colors were thrown in the air. As the kids smeared the vibrant powders on each other’s faces and did ‘thumkas’ to the feet-tapping numbers, the smiles on their faces said it all.
