Watch How Dharmendra Pradhan Picks Up Fight With Election Commission’s Flying Squad In Sambalpur

Sambalpur: After Bharatiya Janata Party’s MLA candidate for Hinjili constituency Pitambar Acharya was caught on camera misbehaving with Election Commission’s flying squad, a video of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan doing the exact same thing has gone viral on social media.

Reportedly, the incident occurred near Sambalpur’s MCL Helipad when the flying squad officials requested to check the Helicopter after Pradhan landed there. Instead of letting the squad do its duty, Pradhan started screaming at the top of his voice and demanded the officials to “Show the documents”.

When the officials explained to him that they had to conduct the check as per Election Commission’s guidelines, he started threatening them by wagging fingers at the officials and screamed ‘Shut Up’.

On this, Biju Janata Dal’s spokesperson Amar Patnaik said, “Several such cases have occured where leaders have not let officers do their duty. Since we have filed many such complaints with Odisha CEO and no step has been taken, today we requested the Chief Election Commissioner of India to look into the matter.”

The incident occurs within 20 days of Pitambar Acharya behaving in a similar misdemeanor with police officer and the executive magistrate on election duty in Hinjili.

He had said, “Don’t you know I’m a reputed lawyer? I’m not only of BJP. I have been sent here as a BJP candidate to defeat Naveen Patnaik. He has already got defeated. Despite your concerted efforts, you can’t save him from getting defeated. Can police or this Agriculture Officer deputed as magistrate make him (Naveen Patnaik) victorious? Why did you dare to stop my vehicle? The moment I entered Hinjili you have hurt me? Don’t act smart.” Following this, a case against Acharya had been registered in Aska Police Station.
