**Koraput:** A heart wrenching scene was sighted in Koraput district as an old man carried his ailing wife to the police station seeking their intervention for justice. He alleged that his son has thrown them out of their house over a small argument.
The old couple identified as Sanu Hala and Lachhama Hala of Kusumguda village under Kotpad police limits of the district had no other option but to knock the doors of justice.
This unfortunate incident has sent shock waves across the region regarding the condition of the elderly people dependent on their children in the society.
Sanu was himself ailing but he had no other option rather than carry his sick wife as she is unable to walk. They reached the police station and lodged a complaint against their erring son.
Notably, they had a tiff over the cutting of a bamboo tree in the premises of the house which angered their son who abandoned them.
The police have already started their investigation in this matter and are interrogating their son.
Kotpad police station IIC Samarpita Swain said, “We are trying to know the exact cause of their problem and try to solve it.”
