Bhubaneswar: As India lost the match by 18 runs despite giving a tough fight to New Zealand in the semifinals at the ICC World Cup on Wednesday, cricket fans in Bhubaneswar let their reaction out.
Hopes of the cricket fans rained away from the match after losing wickets in the first three overs. The Men in Blue later gave a tough fight to New Zealand while chasing 240 in Manchester, but the dream of World Cup 2019 has gone missed this time.
“The top order batsmen totally failed to score run which was a big disappointment for us and especially Dhoni has not played well today. Every time the top order will not perform well, the middle order batsmen could maintain the flow of chasing run rate and for that reason we lost today’s match,” a Cricket enthusiast Atish Nayak said.
“Just because of the bad performance of Indian team Captain Virat Kohli, India lost this tournament and hopes of us,” said another cricket fan Narayan Swain.
“Today we lost from New Zealand not only for Virat Kohli but also for Rohit Sharma who was performing extremely well in last matches. If M.S Dhoni would have come earlier, we could have won this match,” said one Shubham Kumar Sharma.
“Winning and losing are the two sides of the coin. For that we cannot blame anyone. There should be game spirit and sportsman spirit in Indian team. Hopefully Indian team will perform better in next tournaments,” said another fan Amit Kumar Nayak.
