Bhubaneswar: On the first day of the third phase of the vaccination drive against Covid-19 on Monday, senior citizens across Odisha received their first dose of the vaccine with a smile.
Talking to OMMCOM NEWS, General Secretary of Cuttack Barista Nagarika Mahasabha, Bishnumohan Rajsharma said, “I am very happy. We had earlier demanded that the vaccine should first be given the senior citizens. The Central Government heeded to our demands and today the vaccination drive for senior citizens started.”
He informed that they had organised a meeting yesterday where everyone were made aware to get themselves vaccinated either at a private or government hospital.

Natwar Padhi of Balasore said, “I am delighted to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. I had waited for the moment since yesterday. I had earlier watched on television that there is no side-effect after vaccination and am sure that it will not have an adverse effect on me.”

Uma Mishra of Berhampur said, “We received the Covid-19 vaccine but did not experience any side-effect. The vaccination drive is being done amiably and we thank the Government for it.”

Waiting for his turn to receive the vaccine, Mrutyunjaya Senapati of Jharpada in Bhubaneswar praised the arrangements while citing some minor issues as it is the first day of the vaccination drive.
He however expressed that he has no fear for the vaccine as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has already received their Covid-19 vaccine jab.
