**Jajpur: ** A wild bear strayed inside the Vyasnagar town of Jajpur district in the wee hours of Friday causing panic and fear among the people living there. It started running wildly to and fro, in a bid to go back to the forest and seemed to have been lost in the human settlement.
To make matters worse, around 5,000 people have gathered in the area just to have a glimpse of the wild bear and are creating commotion by shouting and chasing the animal.
“We have identified the location of the wild bear. Now it is in Jala village. The police officials, forest division officials and the fire tender personnel will undertake a joint operation to either catch the wild animal or send it to the jungle. The Division Mobile Party has also reached,” informed Debendra Kumar Patnaik, Range Officer, Jajpur.
“The main problem is the huge number of the people gathered here. The police have to de-mob the place first so that we can execute the plan accordingly. If we are not successful in our attempt, I have informed the Nandan Kanan DFO to send its tranquiliser team to capture the wild bear,” he further informed.
In the video, a black bear is found running and hiding in the bushes. It is seen more panicked than the humans who are seen shouting and chasing the bear in their habitation.
