Watch Wild Elephant Destroying Crop In Odisha

**Puri: ** In yet another case of elephant menace in Odisha, a tusker has strayed into Ramachandrapur-based Labangasara under Brahmagiri block in the district here and is running amok damaging Rabi paddy crop.

It is suspected that the jumbo has separated from its wild herd following which it is on a rampage.

The pachyderm’s pranks were noticed by the farmers who were on their way to the fields in the morning hours today (Monday).

According to the locals, the tusker initially damaged paddy crop in adjoining Sahupada Bhandarikuda and later marched into Labangasara.

As the news spread like wild fire in the locality, hundreds of people have swarmed the spot to witness the scene while the farmers are on their toes.

As the jumbo is on its rampage, the worried farmers have stepped up their efforts to drive it out. But the elephant is keeping itself stayed-put in the area.

Being informed, local forest officials have rushed to the spot and keeping a watch on its movement.

It was also said that a special team from Nandankanan was on its way there to take stock of the situation.
