Bhubaneswar: The Water Corporation of Odisha (WATCO) has announced that piper water supply will be disrupted in several areas of Bhubaneswar for 24 hours from Friday afternoon owing to maintenance of the pipeline.
In a notification on Thursday, the WATCO said that water supply from the pump house at Mundali to the capital city will be stopped due to repair of main supply pipe. The supply will be stopped from 2.00 pm on Friday and resume on 2.00 pm on Saturday.
“Due to essential pipeline repairs at Mundali, there will be a water supply interruption in Bhubaneswar from 2.00 pm on the 18th to 2.00 pm on the 19th,” read the notification.
The areas that will be affected during the repair work include various regions, including Ghatikia, Pokhariput, High-Level Tank, Nayapalli, and Chandrasekharpur.
Piped water supply will be discontinued to Kalinga Nagar, Patrapada, Bharatpur, Ghatikia, Khandagiri, Kolathia, Aiginia, Baramunda, Jagannath Vihar, Rental Colony, CRPF Area, Ekamra Villa, Baramunda Bus Stand area, Tapoban, AIIMS Nagar, and AIIMS Hospital and other areas of Ghatikia region and Jadupur, Dumduma Housing Board Colony, Jagamara, Sundarpada, Anant Vihar, Soubhagya Nagar and a few other places in Pokhairput.
Other areas that will be affected include Bhubaneswar Aerodrome, Bhimpur, Palaspalli, Forest Park, Siripur, Ganga Nagar and parts of Unit I to VIII, IRC village and some other parts in Nayapalli and Niladri Vihar, Salia Sahi and Maitri Vihar in Chandrasekharpur.
