Weather Alert: IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall Over Several Parts Of Odisha Till July 28

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall in several districts of Odisha during the next five days. The IMD has issued a ‘Yellow’ warning for these districts.

Moreover, the weather agency has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershower at most places over the State during the next seven days.

Here’s the IMD’s weather forecast and warning for districts of Odisha:

Day 1 (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 24.07.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Heavy to very heavy rainfall(7 to 20 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Dhenkanal, Angul, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Boudh, Kendrapara and Heavy Rainfall(7 to 11cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Ganjam, Nuapada, and Sonepur.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 24.07.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 25.07.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Heavy to very heavy rainfall(7 to 20 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Bhadrak and Heavy Rainfall(7 to 11cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Dhenkanal, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Angul, Deogarh, Jajpur.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 25.07.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 26.07.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Heavy to very heavy rainfall(7 to 20 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nawarangpur, Kalahandi and Heavy Rainfall(7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Khurda, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Nayagarh.

Day 4(Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 26.07.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 27.07.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput and Heavy Rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Khurda, Puri, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Sundargarh.

Day 5 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 27.07.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 28.07.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Heavy Rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda.

Day 6 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 28.07.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 29.07.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

Day 7 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 29.07.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 30.07.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of North Odisha and at many places over the districts of South Odisha.
