Weather Alert: Thunderstorms Likely In Koraput, Keonjhar & Rayagada Dists Within Next 3 Hrs

Bhubaneswar: A nowcast warning issued by the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) at 3:00 PM on Monday forecasts light to moderate thunderstorms with lightning and light to moderate rain in parts of Koraput, Keonjhar, and Rayagada districts within the next three hours.

The IMD has issued a ‘Yellow’ warning for these districts, advising people to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions. Gusty surface wind speeds of up to 30-40 kmph are also expected.

As a precautionary measure, the weather agency has advised people to keep a watch on the weather and move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
