Web Scribes Among Five Held For Rs 2.55L Heist From Businessman

Bhawanipatna: Sadar police apprehended five individuals, including four impersonating web journalists, for allegedly looting Rs 2.55 lakh from a businessman residing in Kantabanji. The arrest was made on Tuesday.

As per reports, the journalists looted the cash from the businessman on October 2, 2024. Based on the complaint filed by the victim, Sadar police station took action against the accused. Initially, police had first apprehended two suspects while they were attempting to flee. Subsequently, four additional individuals pretending to be journalists were detained.

All four journalists will be forwarded to court after a medical examination. Police suspect the involvement of a total of eight persons in the robbery, revealed sources.
