Bhubaneswar: In a move to enhance long-distance connectivity and passenger convenience, Indian Railways will introduce a new weekly Amrit Bharat Express between Charlapalli and Shalimar, passing through key stations in Odisha.
Train No. 17065 Charlapalli–Shalimar Amrit Bharat Express will depart from Charlapalli every Tuesday starting April 7, 2026, at 6:55 AM, reaching Shalimar on Wednesday at 11:20 AM. The return service, Train No. 17066 Shalimar–Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express, will leave Shalimar every Wednesday starting April 8, 2026, at 12:50 PM, and arrive at Charlapalli on Thursday at 7:00 PM.
The train will halt at several important stations under East Coast Railway, including Duvvada, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam Road, Palasa, Berhampur, Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, and Bhadrak, among others.
Railway officials said the new service is expected to strengthen rail connectivity between Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, benefiting students, daily commuters, traders, and tourists. It is also likely to boost local economic activity, pilgrimage travel, and tourism across the regions served.
Passengers planning to travel on the new train are advised to check schedules, fares, and timings through official railway enquiry channels before making bookings.
