Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has initiated an investigation into the death of a 61-year-old man from West Bengal, whose body was found hanging inside a lodge room in the Master Canteen area of Bhubaneswar on Monday.
According to reports, the deceased, identified as Pradeep Banerjee, had been staying at the lodge for the past seven days. Concern arose when his family failed to reach him over the phone. They contacted the lodge employees, who attempted to check on him.
When repeated knocks on the door went unanswered and it was found locked from the inside, the employees informed the Kharavela Nagar Police Station. Police arrived at the scene and recovered the body.
The circumstances surrounding Banerjee’s death remain unclear, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause.
