Wet Spell To Continue In Several Odisha Districts For Next 5 Days: IMD

Bhubaneswar: The regional office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers in some places of Odisha during the next five days. At the same time, the weather office said that the intensity of monsoon rain has decreased in most regions of the state.

As per the midday bulletin of the IMD, the weather forecast for the next five days is as below:

Day 1: (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 31.08.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Odisha.

Day 2: (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 31.08.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 01.09.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of coastal Odisha Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Nuapada and at one or two places over the remaining districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Bolangir, and Nuapada.

Day 3:  (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 01.09.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 02.09.2023)

Thunderstorms with lightning are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabrangpur, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Bolangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Boudh, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, and Dhenkanal.

Day 4: (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 02.09.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 03.09.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur in many places over the districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Thunderstorms with lightning are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri.

Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur in one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Keonjhar, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, and Puri.

Day 5: (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 03.09.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 04.09.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur in most places over the districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Thunderstorms with lightning are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Nabrangpur, Nayagarh, Khurda, Puri, and Ganjam.

Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur in one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Balasore, Nabrangpur, Kalahandi, and Bolangir.
