Rajgangpur: Police recovered the body of a 32-year-old widow, identified as Namita Ekka, who was found hanging inside her home at Garbhana village under Rajgangpur police station limits on Saturday.
According to reports, Namita had completed her household chores on Friday night before retiring to her bedroom. Early the next morning, her mother-in-law discovered the bedroom door open and found Namita hanging from the asbestos railing of the house with a scarf tied around her neck.
The family immediately alerted the police, following which Rajgangpur police reached the spot, recovered the body, and sent it to the Rajgangpur Community Health Centre (CHC) for post-mortem examination.
Namita, whose husband had passed away earlier, is survived by her two children. The family suspects she may have taken the extreme step due to personal or family-related distress.
Police have registered a case of unnatural death and said the investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause behind the incident.
