Bhubaneswar: In a significant development in former Minister Naba Das murder case, his wife has penned a letter to Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, seeking an appointment to demand a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into her husband’s murder case.
Recently, the state’s Law Minister had stated that the family would need to submit a written request for a CBI investigation. In response, Naba Das’s wife, Minati Das, wrote a letter to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on March 11, requesting a meeting to discuss the CBI probe.
As per reports, Minati Das sent the letter via email and post, seeking an appointment with the Chief Minister.
Notably, Naba Das was allegedly gunned down by Gopal Das, a former ASI of police, in Brajrajnagar of Jharsuguda district on January 29, 2023. Das succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar. The accused, Gopal Das, was taken into custody the following day, and the state government subsequently entrusted the Odisha Crime Branch with investigating the case.
