Balasore: In the latest man-animal conflict, six persons, including four men and two women, were injured in a wild boar attack in Kesharipur village under the Soro police station area here on Tuesday morning. The condition of two victims is said to be critical and have been admitted to a nearby health facility.
According to reports, Shivani Malik, wife of Sudarshan Malik, was sweeping the ground in front of her house on Tuesday morning when the wild boar attacked her from behind. As Shivani fled for shelter shouting for help, the animal attacked 12 other persons in the village. Hearing her cries, other villagers rushed to the spot and rescued them from the marauding boar. Shivani’s condition is said to be critical.
The villagers have informed the Forest department about the incident, but they were yet to reach the village till the time of writing this report.
