Bhubaneswar: A cold wave is expected to sweep across Odisha from November 14 to 20, with night temperatures plummeting to 3-5 degrees Celsius in several parts of the state, according to the prediction of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
As per weather forecast, the regional weather office has also predicted a further drop in temperature, stating that the minimum temperature will be below normal in most parts of the state from November 14 to 20. The mercury may dip to 12 degrees in places like Rourkela, Baliguda, and Gajapati, while Sambalpur, Bhanjanagar, Jharsuguda, and Mahanadi basin areas may experience a low of 14 degrees.
On Thursday, Daringbadi recorded the state’s lowest temperature at 13 degrees Celsius, followed by Phulbani (14 degrees), Koraput (15.4 degrees), Rourkela (16.2 degrees), Jharsuguda and Keonjhar (16.8 degrees), Bhadrak (16.5 degrees), and Dhenkanal (17 degrees).
Residents are advised to bundle up and stay warm as the cold wave sets in.
