Bhubaneswar: The ruling-BJD will raise issues such as Centre's neglect towards granting special category status (SCS) to Odisha and hike in petrol prices in the Winter Session of the Odisha Assembly commencing from tomorrow, said Chief Minister and party supremo Naveen Patnaik today.

"The MLAs and Ministers of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) discussed the matters we will bring up in this session like the Central Government not giving us special category status (SCS) and other matters like hike in petrol prices, etc. We have prepared to have discussions with the opposition on the floor," said Patnaik after presiding over the BJD legislature party meeting.

State Parliamentary Affairs Minister Bikram Keshari Arukh informed that there will be a total of 23 working days in the session out of which 19 days have been earmarked for official business and four days for private members business (Bills and Resolution).

Arukh also informed that discussions will be held on the demands of Odisha including grant of special category status (SCS) and revision of minimum support price (MSP) of paddy. Besides, the party will raise the Mahanadi and Polavaram issue along with the Centre's lackadaisical attitude towards Odisha.
