Bhubaneswar: Even as the daily count of Covid-19 cases in the State has been declining steadily and has remained well below the 1000 mark for several days at a stretch, the Capital city with 3,332 active cases, a whopping 47% of the State’s total active cases remains the Achilles heel for the State government’s Covid pandemic management team.
There are 7,087 active cases of Covid-19 in the State as reported by the I&PR Department today morning, out of that 3,332 are from Bhubaneswar city.
As per the Covid-19 update shared by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), the city has 3,332 active cases of Covid with the detection of 288 fresh positive cases in the last 24 hours till 9.00 AM today.
Since no fatalities due to Covid has been reported/confirmed from the city keeping the cumulative death toll remained stagnant at 1009.
While the cumulative total of Covid positive cases reported from the city now stands at 1,09,078, the cumulative total of recovered cases stands at 1,04,716 with 171 Covid patients recovering from the disease in the last 24 hours.
Out of the new positive cases reported from the city, 198 are local contact cases and the remaining 90 are quarantine cases.
