Cuttack: The Durga Puja Committee at College Square in Cuttack has installed a silver tableau or Chandi Medha along with Maa Durga’s idol, this year onwards.
With this, the number of Chandi Medhas in the Silver City rose to 28. At an event here on Saturday, the Chandi Medha was unveiled, in the presence of Police Commissioner Saumendra Priyadarshi, DCP Pinak Mishra, General Secretary, Mahanagar Shanti Committee, Pravat Tripathi , president Debendra Sahoo, and other dignitaries.
Around 2.5 to 3 quintals of silver has been used to build the silver tableau for Maa Durga, the committee members said. “The Puja will be special this year because it will be celebrated with people after a gap of two years. We will have melody and cultural programs from today, till Navami,” they added. Priyadarshi wished and sought the cooperation of all for smooth conduct of the festival season.
