Cuttack: There was high drama at SCB Medical College and Hospital as two women fought with each other to claim the body of their husband who died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
According to sources, constable Abhaya Behera was brought to SCB Medical College and Hospital after he met with a road mishap on Thursday night. His second wife was looking after Abhaya during his stay at the hospital. Abhaya, however, succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday night.
Abhaya’s first wife rushed to SCB after learning about her husband’s death when Abhaya’s second wife was about to take his body for cremation. It was then a dispute ensued between both the wives. A heated argument broke out between both women about who would receive the body from the hospital.
Upon being informed, police reached the hospital to resolve the matter and have failed to do so.
It is learnt that Abhaya got separated from his first wife in 2007. However, he got married again without giving a divorce to his first wife. Abhaya had a seven-year-old son from his first wife.
