Koraput: An underprivileged tribal woman from Ghorsala village in Boriguma was suffering from a large tumour on her neck. The woman, Kumari Harijan had written to the district administration for financial assistance to resect the tumour.
The district administration of Koraput had disbursed Rs 1.05 lakh in eight phases for as financial assistance under CMRF for this purpose. Besides, Rs 5,000 was given to the woman from the Red Cross fund for her travel to Nabarangpur for the operation.
On Wednesday, the tumour on Kumari’s neck was successfully operated and excised by a team of doctors at the Christian Hospital in Nabarangpur. The woman and her husband Ghasi Harijan have thanked the Government and district administration for the help and expressed gratitude to the doctors.
