Bhubaneswar: A 37-yr-old widow, Archana Mishra got arrested by Laxmisagar police when a complaint was lodged by her brother-in-law Dinabandhu Mishra for producing a fake death certificate of his mother and trying to transfer the ancestral property in her name.

In a telephonic conversation with OMMCOM NEWS, Dinabandhu Mishra opened the cards. He said, “My father Gangadhar Mishra expired last year in August and my mother Sulochana lives with me in Pokhariput area. After the death of my younger brother, his wife Archana was living in a house in Cuttack Road which was in the name of my father. In a bid to acquire all the property of my father, she produced fake death certificate of my mother and had filed a mutation case in Tehsildar’s court for the transfer of property in her name claiming to be the lone survivor in the family.”

When the revenue inspector had come to Dinabandhu for enquiry, he was taken aback. He has filed a complaint letter in this case in RI office. He also filed an FIR in Laxmisagar PS against the wife of his younger brother for forgery of death certificate as his mother is still alive.

The police have arrested the accused and are investigating the case.

It is worth mentioning that the family consists of two more sisters, one residing in Berhampur and one in Chattisgarh.
