Bhubaneswar: A 20-year-old woman, Rubi Begam, was arrested today, February 18, 2026, by the Excise Inspector & Enforcement Branch, Unit-I, Cuttack [Flying Squad], for possession of 186gm of Heroin valued at approximately Rs 18.60 lakh.
The operation was conducted under the direction of Excise Commissioner and supervision of Sri Samrjit Dash (SE) and Roshan Isu Hasda (DSE) at Satichaura near Ashwin Hospital Road side.
Rubi Begam, a resident of Cuttack district, has been forwarded to judicial custody for commission of offence under NDPS Act, 1985.
The raiding team consisted of Hira Dalpati, SK Sakir Ulla, AR Mallik, Alok Khatua, Karna Oram, Sovita Mallik, Arnapurna Ganda, Gaurang Nayak, Debasish Behera, Sumit Naik, Ranjit Sahoo, Pabitra Dash, and Jagannath Sahoo.
