Bhubaneswar: In a significant drug bust, Sahadevkhunta police arrested a woman drug peddler on Tuesday in the Arada Bazar area of Balasore district and seized 103 grams of contraband brown sugar valued at approximately Rs 10 lakh.
Acting on credible information, the police conducted a raid at Masjid Basti in the Arada Bazar area under the jurisdiction of Sahadevkhunta police station and apprehended the accused.
According to reports, the woman had procured the brown sugar from Murshidabad district in West Bengal, repackaged it into small packets in Balasore, and was selling it locally.
During the operation, the police also recovered Rs 9,500 in cash from her possession.
Further investigation is underway.
